The idea for Swedish Solution dates back to the 1980s. The owner, Sandy Liversidge, wanted to learn how to rally. His rally pursuits took him to Burlington,Vt. to learn from the best, John Buffam. Soon he was traveling all across the country and over to Belgium, where he competed against the best in his 1980 SAAB 99.  The sport was expensive, but Liversidge was determined. He drove his car to nearly every production class rally in the country. He learned how to fix everything on the car. When his thirst for rallying was quenched, he took what he had learned and opened Swedish Imports in Kennebunk, Maine.  Liversidge soon built a trustworthy relationship with his customers, showing
them their parts and explaining their significance in layman's terms. A number of
years later, he sold the business and went on to open another Saab repair facility
in Portland, later moving to Westbrook. Swedish Solution was founded in 1995.
